Celebrate National Dog Day at Rand Tower Hotel
National Dog Day is returning again at the end of this month, which serves as a great reminder to all of us dog parents to take extra special care of our best canine friends. If you’re unfamiliar, this awesome annual celebration was founded by author and dog trainer Colleen Paige to help raise awareness around rescues and encourage rescues around the world. In celebrating, you might decide that your next trip would be better served with your dog.
To help spark your imagination, here’s our guide on how to celebrate National Dog Day at Rand Tower Hotel.
Try Our Paws & Pilots Special
As one of the proud pet-friendly hotels in Minneapolis, we have long been supporters of travelers with furry companions. And if you book our Paws & Pilots Package, your stay will include an in-room water bowl, complimentary chew toy, and aviator “dog-gles” featuring the hotel’s namesake, Rufus R. Rand, Jr., and also includes the in-room pet fee.
Walk Along the Mississippi River
In addition to our pet-friendly amenities, guests of the Rand Tower Hotel benefit from staying just a few blocks away from the banks of the Mississippi River, where you can walk your pooch along grassy riverbanks for as long as you’d like. The seemingly endless succession of parks and sights includes some highlights such as the Stone Arch Bridge, Nicollet Island, North Loop Playground, and Boom Island Park. While exploring, also check out the North Loop Dog Park and Off-Leash Play Area.
Lyndale Farmstead Dog Park
A short drive from the Rand Tower Hotel, Lyndale Farmstead Dog Park offers a great hangout for dog parents visiting town. It features a large, sandy field for dogs to run around and meet one another. Surrounding, there are a number of awesome sights to check out and see including Lake Harriet Bandshell Park, and the Lyndale Park Rose Garden.
